You pour the first cup of coffee and carry it down to the water while the rest of the house is still waking up. This is the morning the whole trip ends up being built around. As you step out the back door and follow the tree lined path past the fire pit to the dock you feel your stress fade away - the lake is right there, flat and quiet before the days activities. This is what a vacation should feel like.
By mid-morning the place is alive. Someone is pushing a kayak off the dock, someone else is wobbling upright on a paddleboard, and the kids are already asking what's for lunch. Back up at the house, the kitchen is the engine room: a large kitchen island with people on every side of it, the smell of lunch being cooked, enough room for everyone so nobody waits a turn. The Z's Great Escape is a brand-new, freshly built Luxury Lake-House in one of Lake Adger's most private enclaves, and it was clearly made for exactly this, a big group under one roof with room to actually breathe. Seven bedrooms. Room for twenty-four. Multiple generations can share a week without ever feeling stacked on top of each other.
Afternoons belong to the pickleball court. There is no booking a slot and no waiting on strangers, this is your own private court just for your group. When the match breaks up, Pop-A-Shot, skee-ball, or the pool table fill the in-between hours. The adults drift toward the four en-suite bedrooms, the quiet corners that keep a house this size feeling calm instead of crowded, while the kids claim the twin room and the bunks. Nobody is waiting on a bathroom, and nobody is bored.
Then the day starts to slow. The grill fires up on the deck, the dining table fills for the big meal, and the light goes long and golden over the ridgelines. Later the fire pit takes over, firewood already stacked, and the last few people standing sink into the hot tub while the sky fills with more stars than anyone remembered seeing. Down below, the dock sits dark and still on the water, waiting for tomorrow.
